Managing Principal
Jordan Cortez
Jordan Cortez serves as the Managing Principal of Vanguard Real Estate Advisors and is responsible for spearheading all of VREA’s brokerage and advisory assignments throughout the United States. As of July 2026, Mr. Cortez has been instrumental in closing 597 transactions totaling $7.7 billion in property dispositions, structured finance assignments, note sales, and joint-venture equity placements. In recent years, he has established himself as one of the leading land and apartment brokerage professionals in the United States. Realtors Land Institute recently recognized him as the APEX National Broker of the Year for Commercial Land Sales for the second consecutive year, he has also been recognized multiple times as a D CEO Power Broker, a CoStar Power Broker, and NAR National Commercial Award Recipient.
Prior to forming VREA, Mr. Cortez headed the Dallas office of Rockwood Real Estate Advisors and led their Investment Sales and Joint Venture Equity initiatives for the Southwestern United States. Prior to that, he held a senior-level position on Johnson Capital’s Equity Finance Desk in New York where he focused on large-scale equity raises and structured finance assignments on both a domestic and foreign basis.
Before joining Johnson Capital, Jordan led Apartment Realty Advisors secondary markets brokerage efforts for a multi-state region. He began his real estate advisory career as a key member of Cushman & Wakefield’s Dallas Multifamily Investment Sales Division. Throughout his career he has represented a client base that is highly diverse including: REITs, Publicly Traded Homebuilders, Pension Funds, Regional Banks, Special Servicers, Family Offices, Tenant-in-Common Investors, National Developers, Master Planned Developers, Private Syndicators, and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. In addition to his advisory background over the past decade he has invested actively and passively across the real estate, performance horse, and energy sectors.
Jordan received his Bachelor of Science in Economics with Financial Applications from Southern Methodist University. He also completed his Masters of Science in Real Estate with a concentration in Finance & Investment from New York University. Additionally, he is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Accredited Land Consultant Candidate (ALC), and is a licensed real estate broker in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Georgia. In his free time, when not enjoying the outdoors, he is an active competitor in the National Reining Horse Association and National Cutting Horse Association.

Prior to joining VREA, Mr. Tidwell spent eleven years in the healthcare advisory and consulting industry where he worked directly with hospitals and healthcare systems across the United States to address their needs and is considered an industry expert in contract negotiations, consulting, and marketing. Mr. Tidwell was most recently a Managing Director with Parallon Workforce Solutions, which is a division of HCA. Tidwell started his career with Martin, Fletcher & Associates where he was instrumental in growing a boutique organization into one of the largest and most respected firms in the nation.
Justin is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He holds a real estate broker license in the state of Texas and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). In his free time, he is active in the western performance horse industry and coaching youth sports.

Ms. Birmingham was a Division I soccer player for the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs and helped the team win their first Big 12 Championship. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and holds a real estate license in the state of Texas.
