Here Are A Few Tips For SEOing Your Website

When you built your real estate website, did you include your meta tags? If you want your website to rise in search engine rankings, you should do everything you can to make it easy for them to find the information on your website and read it. That means, proper meta tags.

So what’s a meta tag? If you put your mouse in the middle of your website and right click, you’ll get a menu box of items to choose from. Click on “View Source.” You’ll see a box of code pop up. That’s the code for your web page. It tells the search engines everything they need to know to catalog you properly. At the top of the page you should see a title tag, head tag and several “meta” tags.

You need to give your web page a proper title that includes your keyword. You do have a keyword list don’t you? For instance, on my website, the title tag looks like this:

<title>AssistantForRealEstate -
Real Estate Virtual Assistant</title>

This tells the search engines to rank me for the keywords “Real Estate” and “Virtual Assistant.” I don’t use my name because most people won’t look for me by name, but if they’re interested in a real estate virtual assistant, that’s what they’ll look for!

Other important tags are “description” and “keyword” tags. In the description tag you want a couple of sentences that tell search engines what the site is about. Again, you want to use your keywords. Then, repeat your keywords in the keyword tag.

There’s much more to SEOing your website properly, but you should start there. And if you need any more help just let me know.
